St Peter’s Cathedral, North Adelaide is an ideal setting for weddings. This neo Gothic building, with its towers, spires, stained glass windows, and traditional interior makes for a perfect setting. The Anglican Church's wedding services are beautifully worded, and at St Peter's they are conducted with a deep respect for God and the people getting married.
To make your wedding day special, the Cathedral provides the following:
The Cathedral offers an information session on the 1st Tuesday of each month, at 5:30pm. Bookings are essential and can be made through the Secretary at the Cathedral Office at office@stpeters-cathedral.org or 08 8267 4551. The session is conducted by the Dean, The Very Rev’d Dr Steven Ogden, who gives a detailed description of the marriage process, including a session in the Cathedral. Couples always find this session beneficial and are invited to ask questions at any time. On the night you will receive an information package which includes application forms, marriage preparation course information, music list, photography guidelines, confetti guidelines and a step by step checklist for the marriage process. In addition, we can email you a copy of the marriage service to help you prepare a personalised service sheet for the ceremony
The Anglican priest who conducts your wedding will, at the interviews with you, help make the various arrangements, and make sure the legal requirements are fulfilled. We take pride in our wedding ceremonies and warmly welcome couples to St Peter Cathedral.
Weddings are held on Saturdays at 1:30, 3:00 and 4:30. Weddings can be held at any time of year except during Lent (the six weeks before Easter) and the first weekend of the Cathedral's annual Art Show (usually the 2nd weekend in October).
